About the House
Founded by Valentino Garavani in Rome in 1960, the house defined Roman couture through the 1960s and 1970s — the white collection (1968), Jackie Kennedy's wedding dress to Onassis. Garavani retired in 2008. Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli led together 2008-2016; Piccioli led solo 2016-2024, building the Rockstud, the VLogo bag line and the celebrated Pink PP collection. Alessandro Michele took creative direction in 2024 after his exit from Gucci. Owned by Mayhoola, with Kering acquiring a 30% minority stake in 2023.
