What is the Bottega Hop bag?

The Hop is a knotted-handle shoulder bag introduced by Matthieu Blazy in 2024. It uses a softer, unstructured intrecciato weave and a single rolled handle threaded through a tonal-metal hardware loop. It became one of the most-photographed Bottega silhouettes of the year through editorial styling rather than a formal launch campaign.

Is the Andiamo the new Jodie?

Different bag, different intent. The Andiamo is a top-handle structured bag — closer to a Bottega answer to the Hermès Birkin shape than to the Jodie hobo. It's Blazy's flagship leather-craft showcase under his creative direction, with a heavier intrecciato weave and a sculpted base. The Jodie remains the brand's canonical hobo.

Do these Bottega silhouettes ever go on sale?

Rarely at the brand boutique, and only on specific colorways and sizes at authorized multi-brand retailers. Late January and late July are the two windows when end-of-season Bottega markdowns appear. The deepest discounts go to colorways outside the core black-fondant-camomille palette.

About This Edit

What you're looking at

Past Jodie, Bottega's bench runs deeper than most readers realize. The Cassette — the quilted intrecciato shoulder bag that Daniel Lee introduced in 2019 — remains the most-resold contemporary Bottega style. The Andiamo, Matthieu Blazy's first top-handle, has emerged as the rising flagship of the post-Lee era. The Hop, a quiet 2024 shoulder bag with a knot-handle finish, became a sleeper TikTok favorite. The Sardine, the architectural shoulder bag with the metal handle, is the most photographed of the Blazy archive. None of these silhouettes mark down often, and Bottega's retail discipline means the discounts that do appear are at authorized multi-brand retailers — Mytheresa, Net-a-Porter, Bergdorf, The Webster — on specific colorways. Every listing on this page is verified against the retailer's product page every thirty minutes.
